Celebrating The Enjoyment of America's Sports Car
Friday, July 1st is the day of the 16th Annual Drive Your Corvette To Work Day. Enthusiasts across the United States are encouraged to make "America's Sports Car" their commuter car for the day.
On June 30th, 1953 the first Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Flint, Michigan. To celebrate this historic occasion, we celebrate the Corvette hobby with the annual "Drive Your Corvette to Work Day" on the closest Friday to June 30th. The goal is to have as many Corvette Owners as possible drive their car to work. Launched in 2001, Mid America Motorworks' Drive Your Corvette To Work Day is celebrated by thousands of Corvette owners worldwide.
"We understand why many owners consider their Corvette to be a special car and only drive it occasionally," said Mike Yager, Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks, "but we think driving your Corvette to work, at least one day a year, is an excellent way to demonstrate just how popular Corvettes are and it is a chance to Save the Wave and keep the Corvette spirit alive!"
Corvette owners who observe "Drive Your Corvette To Work Day" are encouraged to share high resolution digital pictures of their car at work to www.facebook.com/mamotorworks/. We can't wait to see everyone's photos!
